Dragon's Tail Basics

If you have never used a Dragon's Tail, it can deliver a wide range of sensations.  They look like a 'leather sword' but the 'blade' is flexible. If the striking is done with the last 5" or so of the blade, it delivers a loud slapping sound with mild to medium sensation, which is good for warm up or for the light player.  If you hold the handle in one hand and the tip in the other, snapping it (like a rolled up wet towel) can deliver a very intense sensation, similar to a whip, for a heavier workout. The most intense sensations are delivered with very little sound at all (silent but deadly <eg>). The whip-like effect can be obtained without holding the tip with some practice.  The handle gives you gripping flexibility for a variety of sensations.  They are lighter than a comparable sized flogger so arm and shoulder fatigue is not as much of a problem. MUCH easier to learn how to use and less likely to cause harm in the hands of an inexperienced user, as compared to a whip or flogger.  Thinner leather construction can actually 'crack' like a whip and thicker, stiffer, leather is more for the spanking type sensations.
